New York rap veteran Nas knows his hip-hop roots. God’s Son has hit up social media to speak on the impact late radio legend Mr. Magic had on him.
Nasir Jones went to Instagram Sunday (November 19) to shine light on Magic.

Prior to dying October 2009 from a heart attack, Magic made a name for himself in the hip-hop radio scene.
Mr. Magic, born John Rivas, was the first host on commercial radio to devote a program exclusively to rap when his “Rap Attack” began broadcasting on WBLS-FM in New York in April 1983. Disco and funk were then fading, and rap was emerging as a rebellious new art form in the streets, housing projects and parks of New York City. (New York Times)
A few weeks ago, Nas shared his own stash of never-before-seen hip-hop pics.
