New York rap veteran Nas is a hip-hop pioneer to the fullest. Nasir Jones gave fans a throwback history lesson by promoting fellow music mogul Eric B for the presidency.

Nasty paid some homage to rap duo Eric B & Rakim‘s epic “Eric B Is President” debut single Friday (October 14) with a politically-fueled Instagram post.

This week, fellow New York hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean released his “If I Were President 2016” banger.

Remixing his politically-charged 2008 single, ‘Clef sings about the current political climate. “A man said he’s gonna build a wall,” he sings. “And have Mexico pay for it all / And there’s a riot every week.” “If I Was President 2016” is slated to appear on the former Fugees forthcoming EP J’ouvert, which is due Nov. 18. Recently, hip-hop mogul Master P spoke on presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton‘s campaigns.

“I’m tryna figure out if I want a woman president or Donald Trump,” he says. “I’m tryna figure out where we gon’ be at in 2017.” He continued to think aloud. “The thing about it is that we just had an African-American president. … Who’s gonna be running the country? Is it gon’ be Bill Clinton or Hillary Clinton? And can she run the country and not be ran by her feelings?” As for the candidate on the Republican ticket, Donald Trump, Master P adds, “I don’t even have the words for it.” (Billboard)

Recently, R&B veteran Ne-Yo said he planned to move out of the country if Trump wins the presidency.

“I already told you what I’m going to do – I’m moving to Canada straight away. Me and Drake gonna be neighbors if Donald Trump becomes president – the unfortunate thing about this planet is that we are in no shortage of ignorance at all.
