Last night, Rankin’s Twitter page delivered the crushing death news to followers.

It saddens us to have to announce that The “ORGINAL DON DADA” “Trail Blazer” the legend – Louie Ox Rankin passed away this morning! May God keep his soul with his father, sister and neice in #heaven #amen #sipox

Rankin’s executive assistant Jewlz Sykes also confirmed the sad news on Instagram.

In recent years, Rankin has worked with various high-profile entertainers in the music biz and movie-making industry.

Louie, who is known for his Grammy Award winning 1992 hit Typewriter and calling himself the ‘Original Don Dada’, is thought to have died from injuries he sustained in the crash. The star was best known for starring in Shottas as Teddy Bruckshot and 1998 crime drama Belly, in which he played the character Ox alongside Nas and DMX. In 2016, Louie and Nas both appeared in DJ Khaled’s music video for his track Nas Album Done. (Metro)
