New York rapper Nas knows the importance of August 15. The hip-hop veteran has come forward to remember the life of late West Coast legend Nipsey Hussle on his 35th birthday.
Nas Celebrates Nipsey Hussle
On Saturday, Nasir Jones went to Instagram with a throwback pic of himself, Nipsey and music executive Steve Stoute. The Queens legend also referenced Hussle’s “The Marathon Continues” catchphrase.

West Coast icon Snoop Dogg also made sure to pay homage to Nipsey this week. The rap heavyweight released his new “Nipsey Blue” record in tribute to his late friend.
In 2019, Hussle was fatally shot outside of his clothing store Marathon Clothing in South Central Los Angeles. Snoop’s song samples Dorothy Moore’s 1976 record “Misty Blue,” and primarily features the rapper singing along with the sample changing a few of the lyrics, like “baby” to “homie” and “Misty” to “Nipsey.” (Vulture)
