Nas is celebrating his 50th birthday with his last album, titled Magic 3, in collaboration with star producer Hit-Boy. This project marks their sixth collaboration, following their successful partnership on five previous projects.
The Big Announcement
On September 12, Nas took to his Instagram account to share that he would release his final album, Magic 3, in collaboration with Hit-Boy on his 50th birthday. The rap legend also expressed gratitude:
“I want to thank everyone for taking this ride with @hitboy & I. It’s been nothing short of Magical! The Album Drops On My Birthday. THURSDAY 9.14 at 9PM. Forever Grateful, Enjoy!! Nasir Jones.”
Magic 3 was released on Nas’ 50th birthday, September 14.
The final album serves as a follow-up to their previous album, Magic 2, which was released on July 21, 2023. The initial installment of the Magic series dropped in 2021.
Nas and Hit-Boy also collaborated on the revered Kings Disease trilogy, consisting of Kings Disease in 2020, Kings Disease II” in 2021, and Kings Disease III in 2023.
The Final Album
Magic 3 also marks Nas’ 20th overall since his iconic debut album, Illmatic, hit the shelves in 1994. Nas has established himself as one of the most influential and respected figures in hip-hop, consistently delivering timeless music throughout his career.
Nas Celebrates Hip-Hop’s 50th
In related news, Nas recently partnered with Hennessy in July 2023 to celebrate hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. The collaboration resulted in a limited edition bottle featuring “HenNassy” as a tribute to the New York legend and his significant contributions to the genre.
Additionally, a mini-film titled HenNassy was released alongside the partnership.

As Nas prepares to bid farewell to his music career with his final album, another prominent rapper, Nicki Minaj, is gearing up to release her highly-anticipated album, Pink Friday 2, on November 17. This album will mark Minaj’s first release since her 2018 album, Queen.
