Although Nas reps Queens, New York, he said fellow QB Lakers player Ron Artest represents his hood.

“When I tell you man, the amount of love for Ron Artest, how insane it is from my ‘hood, from Queensbridge, it is a beautiful thing,” Nas said in an interview. “We all root for Ron. We’re all supporting Ron. I wasn’t with the Lakers before [they signed Ron]. I’m with the Lakers now for that. I love him. He plays a great part in the team. We are rooting for Ron all day long.” (MTV)

Southern rapper Chamillionaire recently told SOHH about his support for the Lakers.

“I think it’s gonna be between the Lakers and Cleveland,” Cham told SOHH about a possible NBA Finals match-up. “I know a few people think I’m on the bandwagon because the Lakers are a hot team but I was on the Lakers when people wasn’t really rooting for them. Even when Kobe [Bryant] had his little problem and everyone started jumping off of Kobe. I was still hoping Kobe was gonna come back and get his revenge against everybody and people don’t understand the way I pick teams, I pick them because I feel it’s about entertainment. It’s supposed to entertain you and the Lakers are an entertaining team to me.” (SOHH)

West Coast emcee Glasses Malone is also waving the Lakers flag as they stand two games away from reaching the NBA Finals.

“We looking good man,” Glasses told SOHH about his Laker team. “Win, lose or draw, when it comes to those Finals man, somebody’s gotta beat those seven games. It’s gonna be hard. The only team I’m seeing as being a big, big problem for us is Boston. I think if Boston comes out, that’s gonna be a problem. It’s gonna be hard to beat them in seven games over there because they’ve already been in that situation. I think we good on the West.” (SOHH)

Last year, the Lakers defeated the Orlando Magic to win their first championship since 2002.

Congratulations to the Los Angeles Lakers, who earned their first NBA championship in seven years and 15th overall with a 99-86 win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday night. In the end, Los Angeles’ defense was just as up to the task as Los Angeles’ vaunted offense. The team circled the wagons after Orlando busted out with a 28-point first quarter. Orlando’s screen-and-roll attack was barely a factor, as the Lakers’ spacing and efficient perimeter shooting on the other end made this a one-sided game by halftime. (Yahoo Sports)
