Philadelphia rapper Cassidy’s hustler ways couldn’t get him out of a run-in with law enforcement. The hip-hop veteran found himself in handcuffs last weekend on a drug charge.

According to reports, the arrest went down last weekend in New Jersey.

Cassidy, whose real name is Barry Reese, was arrested in Jersey City Sunday by police officers responding to report of a parked van that reeked of marijuana. Reese, 35, of Prospect Street, was arrested at about 4:10 p.m. in front of his home and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, the police report says. Reese, whose hits include “My Drink n My 2 Step, “I’m a Hustla” and “Hotel,” made his first appearance on the charges Monday afternoon in Criminal Justice Reform Court in Jersey City via video link from Hudson County jail in Kearny. To make matters worse, reports claim police found out Cass had an outstanding warrant.

Law enforcement tells us they discovered Cassidy has an outstanding warrant in another county — for the exact same offenses. So, now he has 2 court dates … for the old and new charges. (TMZ)

Last April, Cass turned up to one-time rap foe Meek Mill’s “Dreams & Nightmares” anthem.

Back in 2012, Cass talked to SOHH about trying to bury his Meek feud.

“I put out a record with Meek [Mill] called “It’s Me Again.” You can pull it up right now. It’s me and the kid C. Grand from Philly,” Cass told SOHH. “It’s just me, him and Meek on the record. I just put it out. We put a lot of records out back in the day, like, a few years ago. Me and Meek were doing a lot of records. I was on a lot of his mixtapes and remixes and things like that. But hopefully, you’ll hear even more music from us. I’m really open right now.” (SOHH)
