Following weekend excitement over rap star Lil Wayne announcing a partnership with rap mogul Jay Z, new details on their situation have surfaced.

According to the latest reports, Wayne will release a full-length album on Jay’s Tidal music streaming service.

Wayne’s manager Cortez Bryant tells TMZ, people jumped to the wrong conclusion after Wayne took the stage at KMEL’s Summer Jam in Oakland and said he was partnering with Jay. Bryant says Wayne was referring to the partnership with TIDAL as an artist and owner. So there’s no Roc Nation deal. Still …the collaboration is a big step considering the bad blood between Birdman and Wayne. Wayne’s next album will be released on TIDAL. (TMZ)

Once the news went viral, Young Money manager Cortez Bryant clarified Wayne’s comment.

“The Internet and blogs took his words out of context,” Bryant tells Billboard. “When Wayne was speaking about the partnership with Jay Z, he was speaking about his new deal as an artist owner with Tidal.” (Billboard)

Footage of Weezy F. Baby breaking the major news to fans at radio station KMEL’s annual Summer Jam concert surfaced this past weekend.

“I just signed a deal with my motherf*cking idol, Jay Z.”

Jay Z’s music streaming service Tidal announced a deal with Lil Wayne earlier this month.

“We’re honored for Lil Wayne to join TIDAL,” said TIDAL’s Vania Schlogel in a press release. “His eagerness to release an exclusive TIDAL track and schedule a TIDAL X performance is just another example of how passionately artists care about getting their music to fans.” Additionally, TIDAL has rolled out an official desktop app and says discounted pricing for students is coming soon.
