[With the highly-anticipated late summer “Come Here” single release, Digital Underground‘s Money B had to bring things full-circle and celebrate his birthday in fashion by premiering the Young Hump, Too $hort and 4rAx music video on SOHH.com! Peep below as the hip-hop veteran talks about piecing together this banger and turning into a must-watch visual!]

The “Come Here” track came together from working with the production team The Mekanix out of the Bay Area. If you’re anybody in the Bay – Mac Dre, Too $hort, E-40, Iamsu! – anybody who has come out of the Bay in the last 10 years, they’ve got a Mekanix track.

But actually 4rAx of the Mekanix is like my brother. He came out of the Digital Underground camp. A lot of people don’t know that. I was hanging out in the studio one day and he’s playing tracks, we picked a couple and we had a show that day in San Francisco and Young Hump was like, “That one!”

We recorded five songs in about three hours before we went to do the show that night in San Francisco and that was one of the joints that came out of it. But when we mixed it, I was like, “You know what? I hear Too $hort on this.

We went to his studio and I didn’t even say nothing. I just played it and was like, “I already know he’s on it!” We played it for him and Too $hort’s notorious for taking his time for getting on records – he’ll take six months. It’s Too $hort, he can do what he wants to do. So I played it, he listened to it and was like, “Yo, I gotta leave town Friday. I’ll have it done.” Two days later, that sh*t was laid [down] and I was like, “Wow. Yup, I know we got one.”

The music video was actually Too $hort’s idea because when he agreed to do it, he was just like, “Man, this video has to be fun. We have to wild out like how we used to do it back in the day,” like “I Get Around.” That’s exactly what it’s like.

We just had a bunch of fun that night. We kicked it. The vibe was good, everybody was in that zone and we just had to wild out for the night.

This is [2Pac’s] “I Get Around” 2017. It has the beautiful models in there. It was dope. Too $hort came through for the video and we all just had fun.

We actually have a new vapor pen and oil cartridges line that’s on deck. We had the pens floating in the video, drinks poured up and just had to wild out.

The record just makes you want to move. It’s one of those records you gotta bounce to.

Digital Underground’s very first video was “Doowutchyalike” and that was 1989. That was my first music video but basically we rented out a hotel in downtown Oakland and we just had a real party. We forgot we were shooting a music video and it just turned into a real party that night.

We didn’t even catch the night scene of that night. It just blasted into a party and I said that was the most fun day of my life at that point up until we shot “I Get Around” and then that became the most fun day of my life.

But then we shot “Come Here” and I’m telling you, it’s right up there.
