Missy Elliott Puts Immediate Stop To Timbaland's Pharrell Promise

Grammy-winning singer Missy Elliott has stepped forward to clear the air on reports about having a new single underway with mega producer Pharrell Williams.

Despite a strong reveal from close pal Timbaland, Missy denied having any solid dates on a new release on Friday (June 26).

During the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards this week, Timbo announced Missy’s new music plans.

“I love my sister to death. I know the tabloids love to talk, and I’m going to say it now. “Her first single is from my cousin—and yes, we are family—Pharrell.” (ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards)

Appearing on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” in April, Pharrell revealed he had been working with Missy.

“Shout-out to Virginia, [I’m working with] Missy Elliott. Yeah. Yes sir. Listen, her mind, the way her mind works, like, we’re in the studio and the things that she says and thinks about, and like her video concepts, I didn’t know that all of those video concepts were hers.
