Rap veteran Missy Elliott is out here crooning like her life’s on the line. The hip-hop artist has come through to deliver more fire singing bars to her fans.

On Sunday, Missy followed up a recent R&B-sounding studio clip with some more audio awesomeness.

Earlier in the week, Elliott initially raised eyebrows by flexing her singing skills with a random recording session video.

Recently, Missy Elliott hit the studio with longtime friend and hit-maker Timbaland.

A few days prior, buzz developed about Missy becoming the first female rapper nominated to the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The Songwriters Hall gave The Associated Press the list of nominees Wednesday, a day ahead of its official announcement. Joining Elliott as performing nominees are Mariah Carey, Chrissie Hynde, Vince Gill, Mike Love, Jimmy Cliff, Jeff Lynne, Cat Stevens, John Prine, Lloyd Price, Tommy James and the Eurythmics (Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart).
