Atlanta trio Migos‘ aren’t too proud to name the greatest rappers in the game. The Southern hip-hop artists have weighed-in on the never-ending barbershop debate.
In a recent interview, Migos tossed Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar and Jay Z into the G.O.A.T. discussion.
“I would give it to 3K. Andre,” Offset said before Takeoff responded with “Kendrick Lamar.” Quavo then added “My man Jay Z is the greatest rapper right now. Straight up. You can’t mess with Jay when it’s time to come and play.” (NME)
This week, NBA star Damian Lillard called Kendrick Lamar the modern day 2Pac.
Recently, Chicago rapper Lil Durk called Future the modern day Tupac Shakur.
Last month, Atlanta rapper T.I. imagined what career path 2Pac might have taken if he didn’t get murdered in 1996.
“I feel like, you know, as a kid, Pac was my favorite rapper since the first time I heard him, and you know, that’s the first person I ever, as an artist, hoped to pattern myself after. Anything could have happened with Pac, man. Just his diverse intellect, and the way he thought outside the box could have led him anywhere in life. He may have gotten into politics by now.
