North Carolina rapper DaBaby is making headlines for the wrong reasons right now. The hip-hop star was reportedly among a handful of people detained for questioning in Florida over a shooting.
Miami Police Detain DaBaby After Miami Concert Shooting
The shooting went down Monday night after 11:30 PM ET in Miami. At least two people suffered gunshot wounds from the attack.
Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez confirmed that one of the victims has been treated and released from the hospital. He said the second victim remains hospitalized in critical condition. Just seconds after the shots ended, police could be seen appearing to take two men into custody and detectives temporarily shut down the MacArthur Causeway at one point during the investigation. Rodriguez confirmed that officers have “several possible subjects detained,” including the 29-year-old rapper DaBaby, whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk. (Local 10)
Prior to the craziness, DaBaby turned up at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium with more than 10,000 people in attendance.

DaBaby pulled through to the event to accept the Top Rap Song award. He also took time out to thank the fans for holding them down and making all of the success possible.

Despite the heartwarming moment, a massive cringe alert happened courtesy of Texas hip-hop artist Post Malone‘s “Rockstar” song actually getting mistakenly played as Baby’s version.

A few days ago, DB went to Instagram with a shot of himself boo’d up alongside his “Girl From Rio” remix collaborator Anitta. Baby released a slideshow of epic pics including buzz about Brazil making their single the top song.
