While Father's Day has come and gone, Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man has spoken out on the annual celebration date and why Mother's Day clearly outshines the contributions men make for their families.

From Mef’s perspective, Father’s Day does not get the proper amount of respect as it should.

“You know what’s so f*cked up about Father’s Day? It’s so f*cked up that I’ll give you a prime example; Dad usually holds down all the bills, keeps the lights on, everything. Put the food in the house, he go out and f*ckin’ fight for the bread and all that sh*t and bring it home to the family, go out and kill the moose, drag that sh*t back on his motherf*ckin’ back so his wife can cook it,” Mef explained. “When Mother’s Day come around, they get mugs, they give them flower pots, all kinds of dope sh*t. You know what [we] get? We get that little construction paper tie. It’s not a big deal. Mother’s Day, first 50 ladies in free at the club. It’s Mother’s Day. Father’s Day, you don’t get that sh*t…Father’s Day sucks. We deserve way more credit — As far as the market goes, they about to drop Father’s Day because they don’t really make no money. But Mother’s Day, that’s up there. That’s tops.” (Soul Culture)

Not only one to defend Father’s Day, Meth previously vouched for men battling child support cases.

“Not for nothing, and I’m not knocking, I don’t know the ins and outs of [Nas and Kelis‘] relationship but as far as speaking for men in general, ladies come on, y’all know that’s some bullsh*t,” Mef said about high priced child support cases in 2009. “Ladies, let’s be real and sh*t, for real for real, all you did was f*ck your man. That money right there, a kid don’t need that much money to survive and sh*t. You trying to maintain yourlifestyle. I wanna see the shoe on the other foot. That sh*t is ridiculous man because then you got a lot of chicks and that’s not all of them, but there are some chicks out there striving to get [that]…The court system is geared more towards the women than the men.” (EZ Street Show)

In celebration of Father’s Day, actor/rapper Nick Cannon recently spoke to SOHH about embracing fatherhood.

“I’m loving fatherhood. It’s changed my life for the better in so many ways. I just can’t wait to do more. I think I’m at that stage where I’m anxious to be a father and obviously my children are still infants. So with Father’s Day and everything else going on, I just look forward to a new journey every day. Family is coming through. My mom and pops have definitely been around. I have a 91 year-old great grandmother that I have and need my children to meet. So it’s been stuff like that as of late and really trying to set things up to get the family thing going.” (SOHH Guest Star)

Outside of Father’s Day talk, Method Man is currently working on his forthcoming Crystal Meth solo album.

“Still working. I’m taking my time,” Mef said when asked about the project’s status. “F*ck that, I don’t care what nobody say or think. I’m taking my time with this one, and it’s gonna be like a fine wine, baby…Falling back to the first album and the second album, the darker element of Meth, but with a twist on it. I can’t tell you exactly what it is because I don’t want people biting me before I do it…It definitely has a twist to it. I have a new technique of writing that no one has really touched on but it’s right there for them to pick up.” (Hip Hop Chronicle)
