According to annual show performer Violent J, the Wu-Tang Clan rhyme slinger’s choice of words evoked concertgoers to respond physically.

J claims Method Man didn’t know the significance of the word, telling the crowd, “F**k family. It’s all about hip-hop” — and according to the man in black-and-white face paint, that’s exactly where MM went wrong … and paid for it with a bloody face. As we first reported, Meth plans to sue over the incident — but J tells us, “I don’t feel responsible at all” … referring to the impending lawsuit as “straight b*tch sh*t.” Despite the bad blood — Violent J adds, “We don’t think it should have happened … We respect Meth and Red to the fullest.” (TMZ)

Earlier this week, Method Man said he was planning to file a lawsuit over what went down.

Rapper Method Man is taking legal action after he was allegedly hit in the face with a beer can while performing onstage at a music festival in Illinois. He continued with the performance but now he’s preparing to sue the perpetrators of the attack. The rapper tells TMZ, “It’s not OK… I don’t condone throwing things at the talent while they’re performing. It takes a lot of heart and balls to continue performing after you’ve been hit in the face.” (Toronto Sun)

At the same event, singer/reality star Tila Tequila was also physically assaulted.

Tila had barley taken the stage when people in the audience started throwing items at her. Tila was left with cuts and bruises all over her face, see the photos of her injuries here. As she screamed to the rowdy crowd “I ain’t going nowhere!”, she tried to go on singing but the crowd was not having it. It took several bodyguards to stand in front of the petite Tila to block her but she just continued singing behind her wall of human protectors. Apparently comedian Tom Green got on the stage to try and help calm down the crowd, but it didn’t work! Eventually she exited the stage and evaluated her injuries, she was in shock at everything that had gone on. (Right Celebrity)

The Gathering of The Juggalos event has taken place for over a decade.

The Gathering of the Juggalos (The Gathering or GOTJ) is an annual festival put on by Psychopathic Records, featuring performances by the entire label as well as numerous well-known musical groups and underground artists. It was founded by Robert Bruce, Insane Clown Posse (Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler), and their label in 2000. The Gathering has featured bands of a variety of genres within hip hop and rock, though the majority of the acts perform horrorcore and hardcore hip hop, similar to that of Psychopathic Records artists.
