Maybach Music Group rapper Meek Mill‘s lawyer has come forward to speak out on his client’s situation. Notably, the news of Philadelphia’s District Attorney office having a secret list of suspected corrupt cops.

In a new interview, attorney Joe Tacopina said the hidden line-up of bad officers is ultimately doing the justice system wrong.

“When you’re in the justice system and you have the power of the district attorney’s office, you have to present all the evidence: good, bad or indifferent. You can’t hide the [proof] and prevent defense lawyers from understanding that perhaps the officer that was the linchpin to your client’s case is somehow corrupt.” (HNHH)

This week, MMG boss Rick Ross referenced the drama surrounding an police officer allegedly lying to get Meek behind bars 10 years ago.

Ross actually referenced a The Inquirer story about an ex-officer accusing a former colleague this week of lying under oath a decade ago to get Meek pinned to gun and drug charges.

In a sworn affidavit, Jerold Gibson disputed the account of Mill’s arresting officer, Reggie Graham, the sole witness to testify against the rapper at his 2008 trial. Graham, Gibson said, falsely accused the then 19-year-old of pointing a gun at police as they attempted to arrest him outside of a suspected drug stash house in Southwest Philadelphia. This week, buzz developed about Meek’s legal team trying to free him from a four-year jail bid because of dirty cops tagging him to past crimes.

Meek Mill’s legal team is launching a breakthrough bid to free the jailed rapper after it was revealed the police officer who arrested him was secretly on a DA’s list of cops suspected of framing suspects and lying in court. It has just emerged that the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office secretly compiled a list of around two dozen police officers with an alleged history of lying, racial bias, brutality or abuse of power to block them from testifying in court again. Reports said the list was compiled in 2017, but other sources say earlier versions could date back as far as the 1990s. (Page Six)
