Maybach Music Group artist Meek Mill‘s camp has reportedly lashed back at accusations by Detroit newcomer Lil George over his “I Got the Sauce” being an inspiration to Dreams Worth More Than Money‘s “I Got the Juice.”

According to reports, Meek’s crew denied having any connection to the 17-year-old rapper’s tune.

Cut to June, when Meek debuted his album with the song, “I Got the Juice.” George says fans immediately started calling out Meek for ripping off George’s rhythm and hook. George says he’d be cool if Meek just acknowledged ‘Sauce’ inspired ‘Juice’ … but it ain’t gonna happen. Meek’s rep says there’s absolutely no rip-off, and Meek’s never even heard ‘Sauce.’ (TMZ)

Lil George recently spoke to SOHH about blowing up in the Detroit rap scene.

“Definitely Dej Loaf, to see somebody from my city going that hard. She blew up so fast. I was actually talking to her the week before she blew up so when I seen it, I was like, “Dang, I gotta go hard!” Just seeing the amount of people that look up to me and respect me, there’s the kids, I go see them and they’re crying. It just motivates me to go so hard.” (SOHH)

George also told SOHH about his past encounter with fellow Motown hip-hop artist Dej Loaf.

“I previously seen Dej at one of my rehearsals, we only bumped into each other and said “What’s up.” I saw her at Summer Jam, we both performed there, but she was with her people and I was with my people. We didn’t really get a chance to talk but I know it’s all love between us. We follow each other on Twitter and Instagram and like each others pictures. It’s all love. We’re both from Detroit, so it is what it is.” (SOHH)
