Maybach Music Group’s Meek Mill has officially filed paperwork to appeal his two-year prison sentence. New reports claim Meek Milly wants his fate ultimately decided on by another judge.

According to reports, Meek’s lawyer made the appeal official following mounted tension toward Judge Genece Brinkley who they believe unfairly handed down the sentence.

In legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Meek’s lawyer laid out the groundwork for asking a higher court to free the rapper, on grounds the judge was unfair and biased against him. Meek’s lawyers have ordered a full transcript to show the appeals court the judge was prejudiced. One of his attorneys, Joe Tacopina, tells TMZ … Meek is frustrated with the situation, but his concern is more for his son, and some other young teens he’s been mentoring after taking them off the streets. Recently, Southern rapper Boosie Badazz gave a positive outlook on Meek’s publicized bid.

“Prison don’t hurt you. Let’s get this right. Prison does not hurt you. The only thing it does is take you out the streets for a minute and it might hurt a relationship with a family member or a kid who you’re away from. First of all, if you’re a licensed artist, you’re going to to get checks anyway and you can’t spend them. So your money’s going to stack up on there. You won’t be getting show money but your demand will go up ten times when you come home. Your first two, three months doing shows – $100,000, $100,000, $100,000, $100,000, you’re gonna make it back in two or three months in what you made. Meek Mill is going to do the same thing. Bobby Shmurda is going to do the same thing. Boosie did the same thing.” (“Everyday Struggle”)

Last week, a report surfaced about Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid low-key visiting Mill.

Joel went to visit Meek last Friday, along with 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin, and we’re told the visit went as good as it could. As one Sixers source put it, “They really lifted Meek’s spirits.” (TMZ Sports)

A few days ago, Hot 97 radio veteran Funk Flex and Tory Lanez saluted Meek amid his publicized two-year prison stint.
