Along with support from his MMG family, Meek has received some extra backing from fans.

Some fans are upset that Meek’s next album and tour might be pushed back because he’ll be behind bars. Others simply can’t believe that Meek will be back in jail once again. Some are just plain angry. MMG leader Rick Ross issued an open statement on Meek’s publicized legal woes Saturday (July 12).

“I created MMG years ago, my desire was to create a space where the most talented artists in the world could be nurtured and supported. With that came a commitment. I vowed to support these artist, through the good and the bad. Every individual signed to MMG is not just an artist, they are my family. And with family you ride, or you die. Yesterday, my brother, Meek Mill ran into some unfortunate legal issues. It happens. However, his team, our team, will continue to execute Meek’s plan as close to schedule as possible.” (Statement)

Ross also suggested Meek’s upcoming Dreams Worth More Than Money album would still arrive this year.

According to reports, Meek could spend up to six months in jail.

Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill is behind bars Friday night. Mill, seen in video at the scene of last weekend’s deadly fire in Southwest Philadelphia, will spend three to six months behind bars after violating his probation. He’s in custody right now. Prosecutors say they were concerned about a number of recent incidents with Mill, including posting a photo of himself with a gun. (My Fox Philly)
