Meek Mill, one of the co-founders of the REFORM Alliance, received help from the “Kung Fu” rapper who’s known for his efforts to help people with financial literacy. On Dec. 8, the two rappers were joined by REFORM Alliance co-founder Clara Wu Tsai, CEO Robert Rooks and television personality LaLa Anthony to provide a VIP experience to New York children at the Brooklyn Nets’ Barclays Arena.
Before the Nets faced off against the Charlotte Hornets, the kids got the chance to tour the arena. They also met Nets players and stopped by the team store. Inside the arena, they were also treated to a shopping spree with surprise visits from Cordae and LaLa. In addition, the kids and families watched the game over a private dinner.
Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar is also known for helping children in California. He invested in billboards to help fundraise and encourage community donations to the Compton G.I.R.L.S. Club. In 2021, Meek Mill and Cordae led a similar event for New York children with the REFORM Alliance and the Brooklyn Nets.
