Maybach Music Group’s Meek Mill dishes on his admiration for rap stars Jay Z and Diddy, notably their money-making ways, in the new issue of XXL Magazine.

Within his cover feature, Meek singled out the two music moguls as being his biggest motivational competition.

“Jay Z. All I want to do is get money like that level right there. And not even just him, like all those guys, Puffy, all them. Me and Puff was arguing at this event. He was trying to tell me about some money, I was like, “Puff, I’ma have money like you.” Puff was like, “I don’t know what you talking about, you don’t get money like me,” I’m like, “I’ma get money like you. I don’t know what you be telling nobody else. I’ma get more money than you.” He’s like, “N*gga, I wanna have all the money.” He honest, he gon’ tell you, “I want all the money.” Some people ain’t gon’ tell you, try to make you feel good. And I was like, “Aight, sh*t, I’m on you.” (XXL Mag)

  1. Mammonism and the deification of bread. W.E.B. DuBois speaks about this in his essay “Of the Wings of Atalanta”. When love of community and intellectual development are superseded by an uninhibited, unregulated, unrestrained, and a dogged lust for capital, morality, principles, truth, and self love

    • yep and you wonder why we have so many savages in our community. the women have put a price on there vagina when it should be priceless so these guys think material things determine worth.

      • I can’t even fault the women. Men supposed to be men. They gotta be accountable for themselves. Just like people say we can’t blame the so called white man, I’m not finna blame women.

        • you don’t get it. a race can only rise as high as the moral compass of its women.

          • Untrue. If that’s the case then why don’t we treat them like leaders? Why don’t we elect them our leaders? Why did we crown men like Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Fred Hampton, and George Jackson our leaders? Why do we say this is a man’s world? Why do we say men are the head of the household. It’s cowardice for men to leave women to bear the brunt of the burden regarding the problems in our community. Brothers gotta stop being cowardice.
