Incarcerated rapper Max B has spoken out on the murder of fellow New York rapper Chinx last weekend and revealed how much of a close-knit bond they shared.
Prior to being convicted on a murder charge in 2009, Max said he would record music alongside Chinx and Coke Boyz leader French Montana.
“I don’t know if people realize how close we was and shit. Like we all used to be in my crib, French [Montana], me, him… I’d be with Chinx every day, Chinx used to spend the night at my joint. We used to be making music and sh*t. People really don’t hear us on songs together because at the time he used to come stay in my spot, I was on trial, so I was goin’ through my own sh*t, I was stressed out, I wasn’t really making no music when I had started trial. So that’s the only reason people don’t hear us on songs together.” (Revolt TV)
Following news of his passing, rap star Jay Z spoke out on Chinx’s death and the importance of stopping violence.
“A young man got killed in Queens,” Hov said referring to Chinx. “His name was Chinx. And um, I think it’s real important for us, like, I can’t understand that we’re seriously under attack like never before. Like, never before. Rest in Peace to Chinx and we’re still killing each other. We need to understand that we are kings and queens.” (Miss Info)

According to reports, gunfire, which wounded an unnamed victim, killed Chinx around 4 AM EST Sunday (May 17).
The victim, shot multiple times in the torso, has been identified as 31-year old Lionel Pickens of Ozone Park. Police say the victims were driving a Porsche westbound on Queens Blvd when a second vehicle pulled up to them at 84th Road, where a gunman from the second vehicle fired multiple rounds inside the first car, striking the driver and the other person.
