Approached by paparazzi this week, Marlon said he could not co-sign the N-word’s usage on the show.

“Um, I don’t know. I don’t know if sponsors are going to be around for that,” Wayans said. “I don’t think Clorox [will stay], like, ‘Hey Clorox, brought to you by the N-word. I wanna bleach these motherf*ckers. Stick around for ‘Empire.’ It’ll get all the black out of your clothes.’ No, I don’t think it’s sponsor-friendly.” (TMZ)

Approached by paparazzi last month, “Empire” actress Taraji P. Henson revealed her disinterest in the word making it onto the Fox series.

Our TMZ photog asked Henson straight up if she thinks “Empire” should use the inflammatory word to give the show street cred. Seems she’s siding with writer David Rambo. “Ah no, you would piss people off,” Taraji said when asked if “Empire” should use the N-word. (TMZ)

Recently, “Empire” star Terrence Howard dished on his issue with the N-word not being used.

I’m mad that we don’t say n*gga in the show. Why is TV showing something different from the reality of the world? Why is there a thing called censorship that stops people from hearing everyday talk? We use n*gga every day. It’s become part of a conversation — why aren’t we using it in the show?” (Entertainment Weekly)

According to producer Lee Daniels, “Empire” will feature high-profile celebrities Common and Oprah Winfrey when season two premieres.

“Yes,” Daniels said, when asked if he writing a part in Season 2 for Oprah. “Yeah, she’s going to be on it.” He didn’t give any details on her role, but we’ll blame the reporter because she didn’t ask. Daniels also said the he was writing a role for rapper/actor Common after Common recently expressed interest in joining Empire. (TV Guide)

  1. Leave well enough alone… Don’t give those other folks another reason to use it or feel comfortable using it..

  2. i dont see what why Terrence Howard of all people came forth with this bright idea. like why? leave it alone. no need for it. i didnt even think you could say it on Primetime network tv damn. i was so uncomfortable watching that Bieber roast with the word flying around it was crazy. leave it alone

  3. I think we have more than enough forums for the the N-word. Kudos for Empire for not using it.

  4. Its bad enough its in rap, it really just need to go away. There is no good in teaching little kids in china, africa, india, korea and so on who watch american media this word is cool. Because most of the world associates blacks with negativity. and they associate the n-word with blacks. So no matter how you cut it, blacks putting the n-word in media will always lead to trouble. Its why you get hip hop stores in taiwan named n-word king. Or shirts in korea saying n-words love blondes. Or k-pop artist, these are like your korean taylor swifts using n-bombs in concerts. or rap monster, or several other groups in korea and mocking blacks. I know they hate blacks anyways, but they are using it as an excuse. Once the excuse that blacks made me do it is gone, then battling racism will get easier because there is no go to excuse. Believe it, if rap music was prevalent in the OJ trial, mark fuhrman would blame rap and say it was n-word with -a.
