Latin singer Marc Anthony has come forward to address making summer headlines over the past couple months for publicly announcing his separation from Jennifer Lopez.
Denying rumors involving him and married actress Jada Pinkett Smith, Anthony said the divorce was less shocking than most people thought.
“I’ll tell you that it wasn’t something sensationalistic happening,” Anthony said of their split. “It was a realization on both our parts. So, you know, it wasn’t shocking. These things happen. It was a decision that we made jointly…I’ll always love Jennifer. She knows that … my kids know that. Jennifer’s a wonderful, wonderful woman, a wonderful mother, a wonderful friend…It is sad, because you think about the impact of all those people who believe in you. You think about your family and the possibilities, but we realized very early on that even though we’re not together, our story’s not over. There are things to do together; there is life to see together through Max and Emme. So it’s all good, man.” (MTV)

Over the summer, Terror Squad rapper Fat Joe shared his surprised reaction to J. Lo and Anthony’s unexpected break-up.
“It was “one of the saddest days of my life was the three of four days ago,” Fat Joe, told Fox News Latino. “That’s my favorite couple.” Fat Joe, whose real name is Joseph “José” Antonio Cartagena says he believes that J.Lo and Marc Anthony are a force to be reckoned with. “They are powerful Latinos, a powerful couple,” said Fat Joe. “I love them both.” The Bronx native, who referred to the couple “as family,” says he has plans to collaborate with both of them individually. “We are supposed to do a big concert coming up with J.Lo,” said Fat Joe. After recent buzz emerged online claiming J. Lo and ex-boyfriend Diddy resumed their past love affair, a rep for the singer denied the speculation.
Here’s a BIGGER shock (hardly) — Diddy and Jennifer Lopez did NOT go on a date. They did NOT have dinner at Philippe last Wednesday. Her rep confirms exclusively to Gossip Cop, “Jennifer was on the set of her new film ‘What To Expect When you Are Expecting’ in Atlanta on Wednesday.” And the CEO of the Philippe Chow Restaurant Group also tells us he heard no such thing.
