Details of the suspect’s name, age and criminal charge have surfaced online.

Matthew X. Jackson, 25, is charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of armed robbery for the Feb. 21 attack in the 8300 block of South Baker Avenue, police News Affairs said in a statement. Davy Easterling, 31, was found dead after crews responded about 6 a.m. to a fire at a 2 1/2-story, multi-unit building at that address, authorities said. The fire started in the rear bedroom, where Easterling was found with gunshot wounds to the throat and chest, authorities said. (CBS Local)

Despite being discovered in a burned down home, Easterling’s cause of death stemmed from gunshot wounds.

Easterling, of the 8100 block of South Vernon Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:41 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide. Authorities have identified Jackson as the alleged shooter, the statement said. (CBS Local)

Back in February, Twista posted an Instagram message to alert fans of his friend going missing.

“My friend and security guard has been missing for the past 48hrs, his name is 6’9. If you have any information on where he is please call 888-679-9611.” (Twista’s Instagram)

Following Easterling’s death, the Chi-Town rapper honored his memory.

On Saturday, Twista sent out “#RIP Davy Easterling aka 6’9 I have lost too many good friends to these streets.” State records indicate Easterling had received a firearms training certificate that would enable him to carry a gun as a security guard. (Chicago Tribune)
