Despite some competition from pop star Lady Gaga, Madonna crushed her female music peers.

The magazine said that the “Girl Gone Wild” singer made $125 million between June 2012 and June 2013. That was mostly thanks to the international success of her MDNA tour, although the album itself didn’t sell as well as expected. Madonna also brings in money from her Material Girl clothing line, the Truth or Dare perfume and merchandise. The world tour grossed $305 million. With $125 million, Madonna also topped Forbes’ list of richest celebrities, beating Steven Spielberg, and the overall list of richest musicians. Lady Gaga made $80 million during the same time period, which puts her at No. 2 on both the overall musicians list and the women in music list. The “Applause” singer’s ARTPOP was not released during the time period, so her millions came from the end of her previous injury-shortened tour. (The Celebrity Cafe)

R&B superstar Beyoncé managed to sneak into the Top 5 behind country singer Taylor Swift.

What female musical performer made the most money in 2013? If you guessed Madonna, you’d be correct. The Material Girl tops Forbes’ annual list of the 10 highest-paid women in music with a jaw-dropping $125 million. Coming in at No. 2 is Lady Gaga, who made $80 million this year, followed by Taylor Swift, who crooned her way to $55 million worth of success. Beyoncé came in fourth with $53 million, followed by Jennifer Lopez ($45 million), Rihanna ($43 million), Katy Perry ($39 million), Pink ($32 million), Carrie Underwood ($31 million) and Mariah Carey ($29 million). Much like their “American Idol” rivalry, Young Money’s Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey faced-off at No. 10.

Former judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj close out the list in a tie for tenth place with $29 million. The former earned the bulk of her bucks–$18 million, to be precise–from her Idol gig. The latter pulled in 50% less for her role, but matches Carey’s overall total thanks to heavy touring, steady music sales, endorsement deals with Pepsi and others, as well as Myx, her own Moscato. Last year, singer Britney Spears dominated ForbesHighest-Earning Women in Music list.

1. Britney Spears ($58 million) 2. Taylor Swift ($57 million) 3. Rihanna ($53 million) 4. Lady Gaga ($52 million) 5. Katy Perry ($45 million) 6. Beyoncé ($40 million) 7. Adele ($35 million) 8. Sade ($33 million) 9. Madonna ($30 million) 10. Shakira ($20 million) (Billboard Biz)
