Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller has knocked Justin Bieber from the top as his new Blue Slide Park album debuts at number one with over 144,000 sold copies in just seven days.
Standing alone atop the Top 200 music sales chart, Miller’s album easily toppled its competition.

Miller has since hopped on Twitter to boast about his album’s chart-topping dominance.

“and yeah, i’m 100 percent indie.”
“words cant explain my emotion right now.”

Last week sales projections had the album selling up to 185,000 copies.
That’s right, just like we said last week, Rostrum Records rapper Mac Miller’s Blue Slide Park, distributed digitally by INgrooves and physically by Fontana, will debut at #1 smack dab in the middle of Q4, with estimates of between 175-185k, which might even be conservative. This is a triumph of social networking and good, new-fashioned viral marketing, as Malcolm McCormick, the son of a Christian architect father and Jewish mother photographer, transforms his combined 2.7 millionTwitter, Facebook and MySpace followers into an impressive debut.
