Resorting to Twitter, Fiasco addressed the hype and even re-tweeted some of his critics’ anger towards him.

“Well if President Barack Obama is the “biggest terriost to America” @lupefiasco is the “biggest terriost to the hopes of Black people”,” Fiasco re-tweeted.

“That is by far the best negative thing I’ve ever seen/heard someone say/write about me ever!!!”

“@crombee @crombee @LupeFiasco well you shouldnt make comments like that when you dont even vote. <--- I still pay taxes homeboy duh"

“Defend the wicked. Celebrate the wrong. Decorate the ghastly. Learn from the fools. Prize the worthless. Woe the times in which we live.” (Lupe Fiasco’s Twitter)

Fiasco’s publicized remarks about President Obama landed online yesterday (June 8).

“In my fight against terrorism, to me, the biggest terrorist is Obama in the United States of America,” Fiasco said in an interview. “For me, I’m trying to fight the terrorism that’s actually causing the other forms of terrorism. The root cause of the terrorism is the stuff that you as a government allow to happen and the foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists. And it’s easy for us because it’s really just some oil, which we can really get on our own.” (CBS News)

He also explained his reasons for opting not to vote in political elections.

“I don’t vote. I don’t get involved in the political process because it’s meaningless, to be honest,” Fiasco added. “I’m a real big believer if I’m gonna vouch for someone, then I’m gonna stand behind everything that they do…So politicians aren’t gonna do that because I don’t want you to bomb some village in the middle of nowhere.” (CBS News)

Fiasco previously stirred conflict after referencing President Obama on his “Words I Never Said” Lasers record.

It’s one thing to have an opinion about the President, but to write negative “raps lyrics” about the President is ludicrous. Lupe Fiasco, a Muslim faithful, wrote in one of his songs: “Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist, Gaza Strip was getting burned, Obama didn’t say sh-t, That’s why I ain’t vote for him, next one either…” Some people alleged Lupe wrote the rhymes to spark media attention for his upcoming album.
