Grammy-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco has his reservations. The hip-hop veteran has shared some dicey thoughts on rap star Kendrick Lamar as a lyrical beast.

In some since-deleted Twitter posts, Lupe explained his true issues with Lamar and why he can’t rank him too high on a lyrical level.

Over the weekend, Top Dawg Entertainment president Dave Free went at Lupe for suggesting Lamar stole his “All the Stars” single artwork from his 2016 Drogas Light album cover.

Dave’s comment came after Lupe put up some since-deleted Twitter remarks name-checking Lamar.

Comparing the cover art for one of the variations of his Drogas Light album covers he presented in April 2016, and the artwork for K. Dot and SZA’s new single, “All the Stars,” from the Black Panther movie soundtrack, he noted, “Even I admit this is a little too close for comfort…. damn now I guess I need a new album cover… thanx @TheBlackPanther,” adding a sad emoji. He added, “All black covers, backwards albums. Now this…I’m getting suspiciously delicious hahahha.” (XXL Mag)

A few days ago, Top Dawg Entertainment head Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith hyped up K. Dot executive producing Marvel Studios’ upcoming Black Panther: The Album.
