Fiasco specifically pointed out blogs as one of the more damaging features of the Internet.

“Sometimes I wish I never found the internet. Sometimes I regret getting a laptop and Wi-Fi for logging into the internet because it is such a distraction. If you have any addictive personality, the internet will magnify it. You have to be careful on the internet. You’ll look up and be like, ‘D*mn, it’s been six hours.’ I’m still trying to figure out a way to take [web browser] Safari off my laptop. With the blogs, it’s like high school. I wasn’t the most popular person in high school, it was like 50/50. Some people liked me, some people didn’t, some people really didn’t f*ck with me.” (XXL Mag)

He also said the ability to leak music online also turns him away from the Internet.

“Naturally, I’m going to go with people who like me and I’m going to stay away from the people who don’t fuck with me but when people go out of their way not to f*ck with me then I’m going to go out of my way not to fuck with them. I’m going to feed off your energy. If I know that they are being dishonest or malicious, then I can’t fuck with them like that. My first record leaked months before it came out. It send everything into a tizzy and fucked up a lot of the momentum I had. That left me a little salty with the internet as a whole. Don’t steal.” (XXL Mag)

In 2009, Fiasco publicly called out hackers for leaking his “I’m Beaming” record.

“The track ‘I’m Beaming’ that was leaked last night was NOT authorized or intentionally leaked by myself or my company,” he wrote Christmas Eve. “Plain and simple its STOLEN property. And this goes for ANY record or track that leaks or is made available for illegal download from this day forward. Actions are being taken and the authorities have been notified. As a personal plea to all my fans PLEASE DO NOT share, stream, or download any unauthorized or stolen Lupe Fiasco music. A lot of time and energy goes into the creation of this music, not to mention large sums of money, money provided by my record company as well as from my own personal finances.” (Lupe Fiasco’s Blog)

Aside from the Internet, Fiasco’s latest album currently resides on the sales chart.

Grammy-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco’s Lasers dropped ten slots to No. 44 with 12,900. After seven weeks in stores, Fiasco’s third solo album stands at 346,900 sold pieces. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
