While nothing is confirmed just yet, Luda drew speculation of a joint effort being on deck.

Ludacris and M.I.A. are cooking up a collaboration. The two linked up over the weekend to work on an undisclosed track, potentially for Luda’s upcoming album Ludaversal. The ATL rapper rocked a white tee and Africa-shaped chain, while M.I.A. kept warm in a furry coat. “Wonder what would happen if u put Luda & M.I.A. In the studio. Hhhmmmmm,” tweeted Luda. Ludaversal is due early next year featuring the singles “Jingalin'” and the Kelly Rowland-assisted “Representin,” which debuted at No. 74 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart this week. He also shot a video for a new record with Usher last month. Meanwhile, M.I.A. will release her first book on October 23. The 192-page M.I.A. documents the career and one-of-a-kind style of the Grammy-nominated artist through 300 images and several unpublished testimonies. (Rap-Up)

In September, the Atlanta rap star discussed putting his forthcoming LP together.

“I traveled the world over the last two years, I got to see a lot of things and had a lot of experiences,” he says. “That’s what Ludaversal is all about. Really kind of being vulnerable and letting you into my life … People are definitely going to understand a lot more about the personal side of Chris Bridges when they hear this album.” (Forbes)

Back in June, Luda stressed his aim to focus the LP on his personal life.

“This album Ludaversal, it’s all about progression. We’re taking it to heights that you never, ever seen before,” the Atlanta MC told MTV News earlier this month at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee. It’s been two years since Luda dropped Battle of the Sexes, and the rapper/actor aims to catch his fans up on all of his goings-on. “I’ve had seven albums, so right now it’s about trying to go places that I haven’t been. I’ve traveled over the world for the past year and I brought a lot of experiences back with me and put ’em in the music,” he said. “I’ve had a lot of personal experiences, so you’re going to get to know the real me and things that have been going on over the past three or four years.” (RapFix)

Last May, former Disturbin’ Tha Peace rapper 2 Chainz revealed his involvement on the album.

“My job is to give him beats from my perspective, from where I come from,” he told CBS Local. “I have a long history of club shows and rocking out and he’s a more venue artist. So I’m just trying to give him some looks from my eyes and perspective.” While 2 Chainz said he couldn’t explain what world view Ludaversal will finally express, he explained his approach to the project. “I’m just submitting beats from my eyes, different from what Luda usually does, that’s why he hired me,” he said. “Me and Luda are definitely two different artists. So, it will be different. I do a lot of clubs. So I’m just submitting 2 Chainz s***. Different things I think he would need or doesn’t f*** with.” (CBS Local)
