The COVID-19 pandemic put a lot of things on pause, from the NBA season to the live music scene. While both of those have made a comeback, VH1’s “Love & Hip-Hop” reality TV franchise may have been irreparably damaged by last year’s hiatus.

Production for “Love & Hip-Hop” was halted midseason when the pandemic hit. VH1 later decided to cut ties with Big Fish Entertainment, the production company responsible for the four L&HH shows (New York, Atlanta, Hollywood, Miami).

Since the Big Fish split, VH1 has aired a few one-time specials featuring L&HH cast members doing Zoom interviews. There’s a “Family Reunion: Love & Hip-Hop Edition” special scheduled for Feb. 8, but still no news on when or if a new season of the show is going to air.

“Love & Hip-Hop” alum Cardi B has conquered music, TV, social media and fashion, and now she’s coming for the movie industry. The Grammy-winning artist has booked her first lead role on the big screen, as she’s set to star in the Paramount comedy Assisted Living.

(Cardi B) made her feature film debut opposite Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu and Keke Palmer in Hustlers, the 2019 crime drama about strippers who turn the tables on their wealthy Wall Street clientele. She also secured a role in F9, the next entry in Universal’s Fast & Furious franchise.

Cardi B Reveals Cost Of WAP + Bodak Yellow Videos

On Twitter, Cardi B revealed the cost of some of her most popular music videos. She said that “WAP” — featuring Megan The Stallion on the track, plus Kylie Jenner and Mulatto in the visual — cost $1 million to make, while the video for her first mainstream hit “Bodak Yellow” was a relatively cheap $15,000.
