Los Angeles Lakers’ Lonzo Ball believes the East Coast has hip-hop on lock right about now. The NBA rookie has named his top five favorite rappers right now and made sure to stick with some serious heavy hitters going from Toronto’s Drake to a Atlanta’s 21 Savage.
In a new interview, Ball wasted little time in naming his current hip-hop faves.
“My top five is Future, Drake, Quavo, Offset, 21 [Savage].”

Last year, Lonzo sparked attention after calling out rap veteran Nas‘ relevance.
It started a couple months ago when Ball said, “nobody listens to Nas anymore.” Look, he’s right — it’s not like “Illmatic” or “Life Is Good” is banging with the youths right now. But at the same time, we can acknowledge that Nas is a hip-hop legend and probably deserves more respect than Ball gave him right there, even if he’s only a 20-year-old kid. (SB Nation)
Yo how Lonzo Ball say “Nas ain’t relevant” then walk into Madison Square Garden with a hoodie imitating Nas’s Illmatic album cover 🤦🏽♂️. This is trolling at its finest by #bbb 😂 pic.twitter.com/t33zJS6h5b

In December, both Nas and fellow rap veteran Pete Rock trolled Lonzo after his Lakers fell short to their hometown Knicks.

Before the game went down, G-Unit’s Lloyd Banks tossed up a since-deleted Twitter post getting at Lonzo for trolling Nas.
