Although brief in details, Lloyd did suggest that the track would be “awesome”.

While his first single “Lay It Down” is still climbing the charts, Lloyd plans to stir up a little controversy with the follow-up, which features a special guest. Speaking to Rap-Up TV on set of his video shoot for “Lay It Down” in West Hollywood, Lloyd revealed that “Let’s Get It In” will be the second single from his upcoming album King of Hearts. The R&B crooner, who recently cut off his trademark braids, teased with a few details. “It’s featuring someone who I always really wanted to work with,” he said. “It’s very controversial. It’s gonna be awesome. It’s gonna be the sh*t.” (Rap-Up)

Earlier today, Lloyd tweeted about working on a new record with rapper Soulja Boy Tell Em.

“Working on some @souljaboy new sh*t. Sounds amazin. I’m feelin myself. Yall aint ready,” he tweeted Wednesday (September 22). (Lloyd’s Twitter)

Recently, Lloyd said his post-Murder Inc. release would be packed with surprises.

“I’m the King of Hearts, you know,” Lloyd said in an interview. “And at the album release, we gonna be drinking Ace of Spades…Me and Polow Da Don have been working hard. I got a lot of surprises. I think that a lot of people haven’t heard me sound like this, haven’t heard me sing like this. It’s gonna be a new look, it’s gonna be like I’m back for the first time. It should be anticipated. The album is gonna be my best work to date, King of Hearts.” (MTV)

In light of his new situation, Lloyd recently cut off his signature braids.

Mahogany Wright, Lloyd’s long time hair braider gave the artist one final braid, then did the honors of cutting off the 12 inch lock of hair. Moments before, Lloyd had this to say, “I’m doing this for me. I feel like it’s time for a change and now is the perfect time.” Lloyd’s childhood barber, known simply as “Parker The Barber”, who was the last person to cut his hair when he was just 14, finished the job, giving the artist a fresh new look. After his cut, Lloyd simply stated, “I feel liberated.” (Ozone Mag)
