Banks cited a lack of communication for putting distance between himself and Fif.

“Me and 50 wasn’t talking for a while,” Banks said in an interview. “It was a lack of communication on both our parts. I don’t know what to chalk it up to. We been doing this for a long time. Over ten years. Went from being in a condo just planning over what we wanted to happen and to watch it play out…It wasn’t just me and 50. It was points me and Buck didn’t talk.” (“The Breakfast Club”)

50 Cent, Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks unveil their brief break-up in this video…

The “Talk of New York” explained what tore him away from the Unit head.

“G-Unit is the gift and the curse,” Yayo said in the interview. “I got emotional one day. You know I’m gonna tell the truth. [laughs] I got light-skinned on y’all. I got emotional and said, ’50 don’t rock with us,’ you know what I’m saying? I was going through a lot. But you see, the media took what I said — and blew it up. Everybody started running with it and got crazy with it. That’s all that was.” (“The Breakfast Club”)

Although the Unit had fallen apart in recent years, reunited member Young Buck recently promised his band of brothers were built to win.

“Don’t look for the downfall of G-Unit,” the rapper said. “Cause you’ll be looking for a long God damn time. You understand? But looking for the success of G-Unit you’ll get what you want to see real quick. But looking for the downfall homie you gon’ be stuck…Don’t pray on our downfall or look for it. Look for the success. Look for the good music. Look for the positive energy. And that’s what you gon’ get. Because even if you ain’t looking for it that’s what you gon’ get.” (This Is 50)

Coincidentally, ex-member Game recently admitted he could only applaud Fif’s reuniting effort.

“I saw the picture and really instantly thought that that was cool of him with all the money he got because he don’t need music no more to give [Lloyd] Banks, [Tony] Yayo and definitely [Young] Buck ’cause that’s my partner, the chance to go back out there and do shows, make money. G-Unit, the name, will pack a building. They get to split that up and that was my first and only thought on it.” (“Big Boy’s Neighborhood”)

  1. 50 is so lame it’s not even funny. I am seriously wondering how anyone can be friends with him. All he does is badmouth you and bring up your bad traits. It’s so sad just seeing guys like Yayo and Banks sitting there and taking it. 50 without flinching said Yayo was mad because he wasn’t breaking him off with any bread and Yayo didn’t seem upset. 50 is definitely a good businessman because he’s a real con artist. If you don’t have a sharp mind, he’ll make you think everything he says is gospel. I guess that’s what having money will bring you. No one under him would dare try to piss him off.

On the other hand, I was cracking up when he said Missy was f*cking Olivia. I thought 50 was joking when he said that in a previous interview but it seems that it did happen. The music industry is a messed up place. Niggas and bitches will do anything to get or stay at the top even if it means being violated by the same sex.

  2. G-yawn-it, these guys squabble with other people at their ages like they’re kings of the school yard, sh*ts getting stale, no growth,no maturity, lets see what happens when younger rappers start dissing THEM for being old a** rapping grandpas the way 50 likes shutting up legends. No one is bulletproof and you can only run your mouth so far 50. I bet someone will comment well he’s running all the way to the bank, FOH, karma is real irrespective of wealth.

      • and whats it to you, misconstruing my comment and sh*t, FOH here with that higher than thou falutin’ judge and jury b.s
