Queens will be in for a show, as there will be a good number of performances including LL himself, Ice Cube and Rick Ross

The festival, named after LL’s iconic 1985 song of the same name, will take place on August 6 at Forest Hills Stadium. The host of the event will be the legendary Juice Crew rapper and Queens native, Roxanne Shante.

To promote the festival, LL shared a video commercial that showed him shopping in a NY bodega.  While there, he picks up grocery items branded with the names of the event performers including a Lil Kim chocolate bar, Jadakiss lip balm, DJ Scratch peanut butter, and a Rick Ross cigar blunt. LL rings up his purchase at the register where actor Omar Epps makes a cameo as the cashier and then jumps into a waiting vehicle driven by Ice Cube.

Other artists set to perform include Fat JoeRemy Ma, N.O.R.E, Trina, Digable Planets, Scarface, and The Diplomats

Tickets for the Rock the Bells festival are on sale now.

LL Cool J Set For Stage Comeback

This festival announcement comes after LL’s canceled performance for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin ‘Eve back in January due to COVID-19.

The festival’s location will be a perfect one, as he will perform in his hometown of Queens where a statue honoring him sits in Corona Park.  Sculpted by Sherman Banfield, the bust features a replica of the famous boom box LL Cool J put on his “Radio” album cover with a cassette version of his debut in a protective case.
