Lil Yachty’s Funk Flex Freestyle Has Arrived & It’s Fire: “N*ggas Are Gonna Hate Regardless”

Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty has more bars than you think. The hip-hop newcomer has pulled through with a highly-anticipated Hot 97 freestyle.

After a few days of teasing, Hot 97 unleashed Yachty’s 4-minute freestyle Monday (March 12) and it features him spitting straight fire for his former critic Funk Flex.

“I was in my bag, I posted, on my ‘gram about rappers,” Flex said Lil Yachty got in the comments – he didn’t just jump in, I tagged him. Well, to be more specific, we had had run-ins on the Internet, look, look, look, he was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, we had run-ins n*gga.’ So we had run-ins, right, so then I called [manager] Chris Green’s phone. I thought Chris was going to pick up. Yachty picked up but he said, yo, I thought he said ‘It’s Boat.’ I’m talking to him thinking it’s just his management team and he’s like, ‘Nah, it’s Boat.’ So I said okay. He was like, ‘I wanna come up there and talk to you.’ I told him I really don’t do the sit-down interview thing but if you want to do some bars, I’m open. I didn’t think he’d take me up on it and he said, he didn’t say it right away, maybe we conversated a little more and then he said, ‘I wanna come up there.’ So I said, ‘Okay.’ We left it at that and then the next thing I heard was he’s coming. So I said, ‘Okay,’ and now here we are.” (Hot 97)

A few days ago, Funk Flex promised to pull through with Yachty’s freestyle.

Earlier this month, Yachty responded to Flex publicly naming “wack” rappers.
