Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne didn’t drop a highly-anticipated Tha Carter V album at midnight last night but he’s not the one to blame. New reports claim Weezy F. Baby never intended or confirmed a September 21 drop date.
According to Wayne’s Young Money camp, the Internet ultimately speculated a Friday release.
The hype started after Floyd Mayweather posted the album cover on Instagram earlier this month and captioned it “[Goat emoji] #21.” That led everyone to believe the album was dropping at midnight on September 21. But when midnight came and went … fans were left scratching their heads, especially after Floyd deleted the post. James Harden followed suit with “#13” and also deleted it. Point is … Wayne said zilch about Sept. 21. The wait continues … (TMZ)
This week, Cool & Dre producer Cool confirmed his involvement on Tha Carter V.
This week, social media speculated Carter V could possibly drop today.
