Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne‘s Tha Carter V is sort of a big deal. The hip-hop superstar’s long-awaited new LP release is already doing serious numbers on Apple Music and iTunes.

According to reports, Weezy F. Baby’s latest solo offering has a strong grip on both digital platforms.

Happy birthday, Lil Wayne. For a gift, your fans have made you #1 at iTunes and Apple Music and pushed 13 of your new tunes into the Top 15 at the streaming service. Now blow out those 36 candles. Weezy’s Tha Carter V (Young Money) is ruling the roost this flipover Friday with “Mona Lisa” f/Kendrick Lamar rising into the Top 10 at iTunes and “Don’t Cry” f/ XXXTentacion and “Let it Fly” f/Travis Scott sitting at #1 and #2 on Apple Music. Last night, Chicago’s Chance The Rapper geeked out over Wayne’s new album.

“I’m about to have my own private listening session to C5. I just gotta say, man, thank-you Lil Wayne ’cause beyond the fact you got me my first ever number one record, first ever Grammy, you taught me so much sh*t from far away. I just want to say thank-you for dropping that sh*t. Thank-you for reclaiming your sh*t and man, I’m ready to hear that sh*t yo. I had to kick everyone out the d*mn studio so I could really take this sh*t in.”

Throughout the past 24 hours, hip-hop heavyweights have celebrated Wayne’s new album release.

  1. Notice how none of these “HipHop” sites mention Tidal as a streaming service which is owned by one of the Kings of HipHop. This is why we say HipHop is Black Culture! Because this Racist Whites play White favorites in all era of Activity
