According to manager Cortez Bryant, Weezy F. Baby’s final solo album will not make its May 5 deadline.

Cortez Bryant recently confirmed to NeverNotDope TV that Lil Wayne’s upcoming Tha Carter V album will not be released in stores on May 5th, which is the date Drake previously announced. Weezy F Baby’s best friend and manager also spoke on the project a little bit by calling it “amazing”, as well as saying it will be better than Tha Carter III. While Tez would not confirm a new release date for C5, he did say that us fans should “pay attention to this week coming” for news on it. The video of this interview, which you can watch below, was uploaded on March 21st so it should be this week that we are currently in right now! (Lil Wayne HQ)

Recently, Wayne said time and maturity played a major role on molding C5.

“I say it’s different, because I’m older and wiser, and I know more things and I know more about myself now,” the decorated rap star told MTV News as he leaned back on the couch of his trailer Wednesday morning during a break from shooting Young Money’s “Senile” video in Los Angeles. “I’m more careful about what I’m doing and trying to be more careful what I’m saying,” he explained about his state of mind while recording C5. Earlier this month, Wayne said it would take at least $25 million to make him even consider a follow-up.

“25 to 35 million would get me to do another solo album after this,” Weezy told MTV News after taking a deep breath and a second to think out his answer. “I didn’t smile when I said it,” he pointed out to us in an effort to show just how serious he really is. “I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes and it’s definitely the final Carter album. It’s the final Carter album. It’s stopping at five,” he assured us of the LP, which is slated to be released on May 5, though we here from a source that date may change. (MTV)

Over summer 2013, Weezy F. Baby said he saw himself hanging up the microphone after Carter V dropped.

“Yes, very true,” Wayne said when asked if his retirement plans are still on deck. “I want to retire after Tha Carter V which I hope will be my last album. My next album’s not Tha Carter V because I think I have to work on other albums as well with my pop, Birdman, and things like that. But after Tha Carter V, I hope I can retire. [laughs] … [I’ll be able to do] things like spend quality time with my kids.” (“The Jimmy Kimmel Show”)
