Lil Wayne On His Winless YMCMB Battle: “They Wouldn’t Be Them Without Me” [Video]

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne has delved into his personal and business issues with Cash Money. The platinum-selling rap star came forward this week to explain his current state of mind.

Appearing on sports show “His & Hers” this week, Wayne likened his situation to Miami Heat player Chris Bosh‘s struggle with the team’s executive office.

“It’s interesting. It’s interesting. It’s a perfect example of, that you aren’t bigger than the game. It’s a perfect example of that. You’re not bigger than the team and once you’re off the team, it’s not, we don’t care. Once you’re off the team, we don’t care. We’re still a team and we have to conduct ourselves as such, and we have to make the most for us. Reason being, I’m going through the same situation myself. So I know how it is. Everything I’ve done for them, they wouldn’t be them without me and, but I’m off the team so it’s, ‘screw him as long as we can, make sure we gonna screw him as much as we can, and when we can’t no more we’ll see what happens. That’s what it looks like they’re doing to Bosh” (“His & Hers”)

This week, Young Money president Cortez Bryant revealed initial plans for Wayne’s Tha Carter V album to come out for free-99.

“We had a deal cut with Google where they were going to back the album and put it out for free. When I presented it to Slim and Baby, they didn’t get it and the label was against it. They basically told me ‘Yo, we can’t put the album out.’ When I had to tell Wayne that, he was like ‘What? You can’t stop me, you can’t hold me back. I got to tell my fans because they don’t deserve this and I’m ’bout to air it out. Before I got off the phone to call his lawyer to let him know we was about to have some sh*t, TMZ was on the other line.” (Rap Radar)

Recently, Wayne promised he had completed his contributions to Tha Carter V.

“It’s done, sitting and wrapped as is. I just listened to it for the first time in months the other day. I had forgotten every single word on it, because I work every day. I popped it in, and I was like, it’s still so much better than everything I’ve ever heard. Not what’s going on right now — everything I’ve ever heard.” (The New York Times)

Recent reports claimed Cash Money boss Birdman had nothing to do with Carter 5‘s delay.

Sources connected to Birdman tell TMZ … Wayne’s threat to retire isn’t sitting well with the Cash Money honcho, who says the narrative he’s holding the now-mythical album hostage … is total BS. We’re told Weezy has the physical recording, and refuses to fork it over — so Birdman feels like his hands are tied. For Wayne’s part, we’re told he’d be happy to give up ‘Carter V’ … AFTER they work out the money. We’re also told Weezy will never leak it on the Internet because he ain’t giving it up for free.
