Wayne also thanked his fans for continuously supporting him during his jail stint.

While puffing on a cigar, Wayne told Sway what it felt like to make the transition from being behind bars to being back in the free world. “I forgot about yesterday,” Wayne said. He was also enthusiastic about his performance in Las Vegas. “It’s unexplainable,” he said. “Words can’t explain. I’m good with words, and they can’t explain.” Weezy also thanked everybody who supported him during his difficult time away. “I just want to thank everybody,” Weezy said. “Not only MTV fans but fans all across the world, and especially my family. I couldn’t have done it without them, and I won’t ever do it without them.” (MTV)

A day after his release, Wayne flew to New Orleans to watch his hometown NBA basketball team play against the Miami Heat.

Lil Wayne turned up courtside in red baseball cap and long dreadlocks to watch the unbeaten New Orleans Hornets edge the Miami Heat 96-93 Friday night, a day after his release from a New York City jail. Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter Jr., was freed Thursday after serving eight months in a gun case. Asked how it felt to be back, Wayne told the The Times-Picayune: “Like I never left.” (The Associated Press)

He also headed to Arizona to deal with a probation case and then performed in Las Vegas.

Last night, Drake performed the last show of his Light Dreams and Nightmares tour in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel. Tyga, Lloyd and Birdman were a few of the guests in attendance. With Lil Wayne fresh out of jail, there were rumors and speculation that he would be performing at this show. Wayne eventually settled down with a “Welcome Home” event in Miami.

After taking in the Hornets-Heat game in New Orleans and performing with Drake in Las Vegas, Weezy capped off his first weekend back home in Miami. His CMYMB family including Drizzy, a teal-haired Nicki Minaj, Jay Sean, Shanell and Kevin Rudolf celebrated at the retrofitted bank, along with Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, T-Pain, Wale, D. Woods and Cool & Dre. The guest of honor arrived with a cigar in hand and two showgirls flanking him on each arm. (Rap-Up)
