Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne sees Young Hov as much more than a great rapper. The hip-hop superstar gives his thoughts about JAY-Z and even names his all-time favorite Jigga studio album.
Lil Wayne Says JAY-Z ‘Went Bananas’ On This Album
In an interview with Lil Baby for Rolling Stone, Lil Wayne said the JAY-Z album that really impacted him was Vol. 3 … Life and Times of S. Carter, which dropped in 1999 right when Wayne’s career was taking off.
“He went bananas on that album,” Weezy said. “I got lyrics from the album tattooed on me and s***. I have songs that are remakes of songs from that album, you know?”
Trippie Redd Body-Shames JAY-Z
While Lil Wayne was paying JAY-Z his due respect, Ohio rapper Trippie Redd recently went the other way. He threw a jab at Hova over the New York rap legend’s now-infamous and must-see beach workout pics.

JAY-Z Spotted Working Out
The pics surfaced online showing Beyonce‘s husband low-key getting a workout on surrounded by peers on a beach. Most people assumed this was the legwork of paparazzi, as the rapper/mogul is usually very private.

50 Cent Trolls JAY-Z + Diddy
The pics came days after rap veteran 50 Cent poked fun at JAY. (Of course he did.) Fifty hit up his social media pages to poke fun at both Young Hov and music mogul Diddy’s approaches to diving into large bodies of water.
