Young Money boss Lil Wayne is going to war with a former business partner. The hip-hop star’s sports agency is reportedly going after Sacramento Kings star Frank Mason over their ties coming to a nasty end.

According to reports, Wayne’s team wants Mason to pay them back paid finances, damages and a Young Money chain.

As part of the deal, YM says it advanced Mason $40,000, agreed to pay his pre-draft expenses (totaling $52k) and hooked him up with an $11,000 diamond Young Money chain. Pretty standard stuff. Well, in April 2018 — toward the end of Mason’s rookie season — Mason fired Young Money “at the urging of a former YM employee” but never gave back the stuff, according to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ Sports. Now, Young Money is asking the judge to force Mason’s hand — demanding $92k in cash plus the chain PLUS damages. (TMZ)

Over the next couple of seasons Frank is expected to make under $2.1 million annually.

Per Spotrac, Mason is set to make $1.378 million in 2018-19 followed by a non-guaranteed salary of $1.618 million in 2019-20. Sacramento could also make him a qualifying offer of $2.023 million for 2020-21. After a standout collegiate career at Kansas that saw him win the 2017 National College Player of the Year award, Mason played a fairly significant role for the Kings as a rookie off the bench. According to the sports agency’s site, the company covers football, basketball and boxing.

YOUNG MONEY APAA Sports is now the premier full-service sports agency in the industry. Our success as a firm can only be measured by the success of our clients. We will hold ourselves to the highest standards and provide our clients with every opportunity to succeed. It is only with hard work, personal service and passion that we can continue our success. Prior to landing in the NBA, Mason made a name for himself as a star Kansas University basketball player.
