According to reports, the YMCMB duo and music hitmaker Pharrell Williams are slated to invade the show later this month.

Pharrell Williams, Usher, Drake and Lil Wayne are among the first slate of performers announced for the 2014 BET Awards, airing Sunday, June 29 at 8 p.m. Jennifer Hudson, Trey Songz and Lionel Richie, who will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, will also perform during the ceremony, the network announced Tuesday. Music super couple Jay Z and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter lead the upcoming ceremony.

BET has announced the nominees for the 2014 BET Awards. Beyoncé and Jay Z take the lead with four nominations each. Beyoncé is nominated for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best Collaboration (“Drunk In Love”), and Video of the Year twice (“Partition,” “Drunk In Love”). Besides being nominated alongside Beyoncé for Video of the Year and twice for Best Collaboration, Jay is also nominated for Best Male Hip Hop Artist. The nominations announcement comes two days after footage leaked of Solange attacking Jay Z in a The Standard Hotel elevator the night of the Met Gala. Drake, Chris Brown, Pharrell Williams and August Alsina follow behind with three nominations each. (Billboard)

BET executive Stephen Hill issued a statement on the upcoming big celebration last month.

“This year’s nominees represent the best of the culture,” says Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials via a press release. “It’s great to see our talented new artist’s right alongside our more beloved ones with long careers. We appreciate our BET Awards nomination committee, over 300 strong, for their efforts and congratulate all the nominees.” (Statement)

Although Chris Tucker hosted the annual star-studded event last year, rap star Kendrick Lamar clearly stole the show after bringing out R&B icon Erykah Badu for his “Don’t Kill My Vibe” set.

The 2013 BET Awards are taking place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California hosted by the one and only Chris Tucker, and with performances and appearances from some of the biggest names in Black music. Right after winning the Best New Artist Award, Kendrick Lamar took to the stage opening with “Backseat Freestyle” before rolling into a special performance of “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” with special guest Erykah Badu.
