Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne left concertgoers waiting for one of the lamest reasons ever. New reports claim Weezy F. Baby went ghost over a security check.
According to a report, Wayne fell back on a Saturday (September 30) concert at Fall Ball in Columbia, South Carolina over security.
The New Orleans-born rapper refused to go through “standard safety procedures” at the Colonial Life Arena, according to a statement obtained by The (Charleston) Post and Courier. “The safety of its patrons, its performers, and its staff members is and continues to be the No. 1 priority for Colonial Life Arena,” read the arena’s statement, according to the newspaper’s website. “While we regret the artist’s decision not to perform, Colonial Life Arena is not willing to bypass its security standards and jeopardize the safety of its patrons, performers, or staff members.” (NOLA)
Days prior to the no-show, Wayne promoted his appearance on social media.
Last week, footage emerged of Wayne celebrating his 35th birthday at a surprise party.
Young Money stars Drake and Nicki Minaj shouted out Wayne’s special day.
Happy Birthday bossssssy! Thank you for the endless tools and the inspiration! I would have been lost at how to maneuver this game without watching you do it first. I remember when they told you that it was impossible to build a skate ramp on your roof…and then I came back and you were skating on your roof. Please never change.
