Lil Wayne Says Drake + Nicki Minaj Can’t Be Cloned

In a recent interview, Weezy F. Baby put a swift end to comparisons of his Young Money protégés Drake and Nicki Minaj. Wayne even said he can’t stand when people bring up the discussion.

“No, there’s no such thing,” Wayne said when asked if he looks forward to finding the next Nicki Minaj and Drake. “I hate when people ask me that. There’s no such thing as the next Drake and Nicki Minaj. What happens is, um, I guess back then, when I did discover Drake and Nicki – the game is different. Music is different. So what I mean by that is, they came in during the time when right before the whole social media popped off, so they came in when music was – they had everybody paying attention. Meaning they had everybody looking to see, ‘What is this? Who is this?'”

Lil Wayne Reveals I Am Not a Human Being III

Wayne is in the studio grinding. The rap superstar has revealed he already has his heart set on dropping another album in his I Am Not a Human Being series. During the same conversation with the Bumbo Rum Company Instagram account, Weezy disclosed his next project would be I Am Not a Human Being III. The second installment of the series was released back in 2012.

“Right now, I’ve been working on I Am Not a Human Being. I did two songs on I Am Not a Human Being, my next solo album, I Am Not a Human Being III.”

Weezy F. Baby Sells Masters To Major Artists’ Music

Lil Wayne has also been making some business deals. New reports have revealed that in addition to selling his own masters, he also cashed in on his Young Money roster’s releases. Weezy reportedly sold the masters to some of Nicki Minaj and Drake’s music too. Maybe this is why he doesn’t plan on finding any artists like them! The sale took place back in June and also included music from former Young Money star Tyga. It included the entire catalog of music recorded on his Young Money label. The deal reportedly included almost all of Nicki’s releases and most of Drake’s releases from prior to 2018, which is when he founded his own OVO label.

“Story – Sparking major headlines this weekend, it was reported that Lil Wayne had sold his master recordings to Universal Music Group in a $100 million deal. Considering the fact that Bob Dylan sold his entire catalog for $300 million just weeks prior, many were surprised that Wayne didn’t push for more money. According to Music Business Worldwide, the reason why he settled for $100 million is actually quite clear.”
