Lil Wayne Blasts Baby & Cash Money: “Who Was There When N*ggas Left?”

Written By Cyrus Langhorne

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne does not sugarcoat his feelings toward Cash Money Records on his new Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape and dropped ample disses at the label.

On his “CoCo” freestyle, Weezy F. Baby describes his loyalty to Cash Money amid labelmates leaving throughout the mid-2000’s.

“Who kept this sh*t together? N*gga, me, that’s who. Who was there when n*ggas left? N*gga, me, that’s who / Cash Money is an army, I’m a one man army / And if them n*ggas comin’ for me, I’m goin’ out like Tony …”Now I don’t want no problems, I just want my money – Birdman Jr., more like Ugly Duckling.” (“CoCo” Freestyle)

A few days ago, Wayne teased fans with the release of his “Sh!t” remix.

“I’m bumpin’ Carter V on the iPod / My b*tch mad as hell ’cause it ain’t out yet / She said soon as these ni**as see your new sh*t / They gon’ have to give their styles back — Did my time at Cash Money / Time served and released, but this agent ain’t free.” (“Sh!t” Remix)

Last week, rap veteran Master P addressed whether or not Wayne could possibly land at No Limit Records

“This is definitely historical,” Master P said in an interview when asked if Wayne could find himself doing more work with him. “We never did nothing [like this,] it’s No Limit 24 anniversary. So we call it No Limit 24k. Anything is possible but Wayne is making good music. I rapped on his record, he rapped on my ‘Power’ record and we’re going to build a relationship. From here, wherever it go – it’s all official over here.” (“Sway In The Morning”)

Keeping an optimistic view, Young Money’s Christina Milian said she hoped Baby and Weezy would patch up their problems earlier this month.

“It’s a little difficult,” she said. “I’m on the same record label. I’m on Young Money, so it’s a little difficult when it comes to business. I understand the circumstance for all of them. I think everyone’s trying to work it out and I wish the best. Honestly it’s been an empire that has been built between Baby and with Lil Wayne. You can only hope for the best and big things for the both of them, that they continue this grind that they have. They basically paved the way for people like myself having the opportunity to become successful. I pray it all works out. I know he prays the same thing, nothing but the best.” (The Hollywood Reporter)

      • I wouldn’t say he ain’t no business man. You gotta think Wayne probably signed some janky ass contract when he was a youngin, now he paying for it.

        • You just contradicted yourself. You wouldn’t say he isn’t a business man then state he probably signed a ‘janky ass’ contract… lack of negotiating skills = lack of business skills! We honestly don’t know what’s going on we can only speculate. Whatever the case may be, Lil Wayne is stuck.

          • Wayne probably just wants a change in his life. Sometimes that same thing day in and day out can get mundane, no matter what level it is.
He is a grown man who wants to be his own man, and by letting “daddy” go must to him appear the best choice.
I disagree with all the public bashing, regardless. Why are we so privy to private matters, we are not that special. Wayne handle your biz QUIETLY. sHHH

          • You clearly didn’t read my post or your not aware that Lil Wayne has been with Cash Money since he was damn near 16. As a kid he could have signed some Janky as contract. Clearly he’s a businessman now because he has other ventures outside of rap

        • Are you kidding me?

Wayne isn’t on the same contract he had with CMB when he was 11. He resigned with them in 2008. He put himself in this situation.

      • I wouldnt say hes not a business man. You gotta remember Birdman came into Waynes life when he was a kid. Then he signed Wayne when he was 9years old AND became a father figure to Wayne. So imagine being 9 years old being signed to one guy and he basically being the dad you never had. Of course youre gonna follow his lead with no questions asked. He was being loyal to his father figure. Even when BG and Juvie and all of them left he was being loyal to the guy that was a father figure to him. The man that he looked up to never warned him about the snakes in this industry because Birdman himself is a snake. So in turn Wayne had to find out the hard way.

Also just to throw this out there 85% of these artists arent actually busnessmen/women. They have business minded people around them that consult them on the moves to make. You think Jay, Diddy, and Dre know the full ins and outs of every business theyve invested in? Hell no they have trusted consultants that advise them on the right moves to make.

    • Negative, Baby keep that man working or let him buy himself out.
If weezy is gettin that briddle like he says he is then put the pennies together and buy your freedom. Besides that THIS IS BUSINESS

  1. I don’t take no one who is signed or was signed at YMCMB serious. This is common in Hip Hop. These are pure emotions. Wayne will return back to birdman lips.

    • Ikr and I think Wayne is mad that his album hasnt got released and Bryan been rolling with young thug they gonna be seen in pics together with Bryan’s arm around Wayne like always they love each other still lmao

    • Remember Wayne signed to Cash Money when he was 9. He didnt know better. And i doubt Wayne is gonna go back. The whole reason Theyre not releasing his album is cus once they do his contract will be up and Birdman wont be able to profit off of any of Waynes stuff after that

      • I remember a few years ago Birdman said he let Wayne sign the best contract in Hip Hop. Something like that so Wayne knew what he was doing.

  2. Become a conscious rapper and the voice of revolution. Those under 30 have nothing to look forward to other than poverty. 80% unemployment rate for new college grads. Take up the cause against the banksters, Weezy! Do that and I’m sure Baby will drop you and won’t want anything to do with you!! And you will have done a good thing and will be relevant forever!!!

  3. I dont feel bad for this nigga. he shitted on bg and gillie and juvie and turk and manny when they left called them disloyal while his punk ass stayed to keep getting fucked and tounge kissing baby in public. He put himself in the trick bag no one forced him in it. he knew what it was since 2000 baby a grimey nigga it is what it is lol baby that nigga he dont give a fuck he #winning lol

  4. Get hit wit the Rico they repo’d your vehicle, everything was all good just a week ago! Wayne’s the cash cow! That’s why he won’t let him go! I guess loyalty doesn’t get you far these days! • No he’s not cause after Bangladesh talked all that stuff about not being paid from Cashmoney, he turned right around and signed with them

  11. I’m siding with BIRDMAN. Why should Stunna let him go? Just as Wayne has been loyal to Cash Money, hasn’t Cash Money been loyal to him?

The fact that he gets national spins, unlimited videos (seemingly with unlimited budgets) all the exposure he wants, a tour bus with numerous tours to play and even a record label complete with artisits. Why I think Weezy needs to shut the f up and make music.

If he wants out of his contract, why doesn’t he just fulfill the contractual obligations and lawyer up? How many albums are you due to them????

    • You do realize that this all started because Cash Money hasn’t realized C5? He can’t fulfill the contractual obligations if the album hasn’t released

  13. Dudes sign contracts and want to break them it’s so funny. Too much marketing dollars to spend on a album that will prolly barely go gold not to mention all the expensive videos you have make for artist like him. Birdman gives no F’s because he’s managing new artist and getting paid a %

  14. Wayne been with baby since he was 11 .. Baby adopted that man raised him.. Who thinks their pops would wait twenty years and then flip on em? Nobody So y’all stop with the he not a businessman and contract talks… Ask drake and Nicki about his business acumen..

  15. Something is going on internally that we don’t know about. This came out of left field and his album being pushed back isn’t a good enough reason for all of this because his last few albums have been pushed back. I personally think this was a bad Chess move on the part of Wayne. I wonder if he leaves Cash Money then what will happen to his artists that are under his label Young Money and isn’t Young Money a subsidiary of Cash Money. What happens to the dynamic of those contracts when he leaves Cash Money. I think he should’ve fulfilled his contract and release the last album he has obligated to Cash Money and force them to renegotiate or leave. To pull this stunt makes no sense to me.

  19. If I’m Drake and Nicki I look at this as instability at the top ranks and as a reason to leave and sign with another label. Both of them can stand on their own and don’t need Wayne or Baby to make hits. Wayne thinks he’s doing some rock n’ roll shit but he just might hurt his own standing with his artists that may use his erratic behavior as an excuse to jump ship.
