Atlanta rapper Lil Scrappy has taken a stern approach reacting to singer Frank Ocean coming out as a bi-sexual man this week and said gay men should all come out to limit the spread of AIDS.
According to Scrappy, gay men are strong contributors to spreading AIDS.
Rapper Lil Scrappy believes gay men like Frank Ocean are the “doorway to AIDS” … and wants more closeted homosexuals to “come out” so it can’t be spread to straight people. Scrappy — who now stars on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” — was on “TMZ Live” this week to talk about Ocean’s revelation … when he explained why he completely SUPPORTS the R&B singer. “I’m glad that he came out … so all the real women that love to mess with real men, straight men, we can keep the AIDS situation down, you feel me?” Scrappy continued, “[homosexuality] is a doorway to AIDS, scientifically.” As for the facts, there is evidence that shows men who have sex with men are at an increased risk of contracting HIV. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, men who have sex with men accounted for 61% of all new HIV infections in 2009. Despite his opinions, Scrappy says he has no reservations about working with Ocean if the opportunity arises — telling us he would “jump on a track like it was yesterday.” (TMZ)
Last year, West Coast rapper Game said there are numerous gay men in the music industry.
“I think there are several rappers that are in the closet and gay, and see those are the type of gay people that — the only type of gay people that I have a problem with,” Game said in an interview. “I don’t have a problem with gay people. Like, Beyonce should’ve said, ‘Who run the world? Gays,’ because they’re everywhere and rightfully so. Do you. It’s a free country. Be gay, you can do that. Game don’t have a problem with gay people….Game has a problem with people that are pretending not to be gay and are gay because the number one issue with that is that you could be fooling somebody and you could give them AIDS and they can die and so that in the closet sh*t is real scary. So, we’ve got to get into the real seriousness of it and it’s just not fair to other people — If you gay, just say you gay. Be gay and be proud.” (Hot 107.9)
Following his remarks, Game’s ex-affiliate 50 Cent addressed his own sexuality.
“I got a word, I came up with a word for everything that you see from that guy,” 50 told Funkmaster Flex. “It’s desperation. [Game saying I’m in the closet?] If that’s a valid question, they really need to ask the young ladies because I really don’t do too much talking, even about who I’m hanging out with. Like, I don’t like to talk about it. [Desperation] is when you’re hurt and you gotta try to make some conversation. What song is playing right now, Flex? From his new LP? OK. Let’s move on. Earlier this week, Frank Ocean released an open letter revealing his sexual preference.
“Whoever you are, wherever you are.. I’m starting to think we’re a lot alike,” writes Ocean in the letter. “Human beings spinning on blackness. All wanting to be seen, touched, heard, paid attention to.” “We spent that summer, and the summer after, together. Everyday almost. And on the days we were together, time would glide,” he wrote of a romance he shared with another man. “Most of the day I’d see him, and his smile.
