Brooklyn rap veteran Lil’ Kim and Remy Ma know there’s power in numbers. The hip-hop duo are reportedly gearing up to drop a hard-hitting Nicki Minaj diss song.
According to reports, fans can get pumped up over a new anti-Barbie record called “Wake Me Up.”
Sources close to the deal tell TMZ … Columbia Records exec Shawn Holiday signed Remy to a multi-million dollar deal, and Remy immediately started working with Nicki’s arch nemesis, Kim.
The track is riddled with subliminal shots at Nicki:
— “That crown I’m gon take that sh*t. Cause you a clown and homie don’t play that sh*t.”
— “I heard he lay that d***. You let them filet that fish. You just met him how he bae that quick?”
Sounds like Remy’s taking shots at Nicki’s relationship with Nas … which, publicly at least, took off pretty quickly. (TMZ)
Last month, Remy raised eyebrows after linking up the Queen Bee for a studio session.
Recently, female rapper Trina explained why she could not co-sign Remy and her rap rival Nicki Minaj‘s publicized feud.
“I don’t get into all that – people always try to put women against each other. It’s more of that than trying to unite together because people definitely love to see more of a unity than a separation but in this generation, we don’t have that. We have too many envious, hateful people that would rather see a divide. I don’t know why. I see so many dudes that work together and don’t even like each other – why separate the women from doing that? I don’t like that. That’s something I don’t like.”
In late August, Remy’s longtime mentor Fat Joe talked about the epic rap beef.
“Why we getting into this? We got number one songs. Why we getting into the beef? That’s not cool. I beefed with 50 Cent for seven years. I was like, it’s not a go. But one day I woke up – I woke up in Vegas, I had a show in Vegas and that night I drank too – I woke up and the whole world was calling me. I’m looking at my phone and this ‘Shether’ thing – never heard it. And then I heard it like you. And I was like, ‘Oh my God! Can’t nobody come back from this one – I just didn’t want the rap beef regardless. I knew what she did, she did her thing, but I know nobody could come back from that.” (Power 106 FM)
